Dev (Python, mostly), dad, Baylor Bear, student pilot. I read too much.
The ridiculous thing is that “that’s the dumbest possible thing anyone could do!” is now, like, validating proof it’s real.

Love the experience of paying 2x the initial principal of your student loan only to find you now have 3x the initial in remaining balance due? Let’s try that for a *really* rapidly depreciating asset!

this is a good point, and only goes to prove it’s suspect when women are out there demanding a man taller than our Lord and Savior.

only tangentially related, but we looked at an office in the same building as this school recently (didn’t end up taking it). Something weird about “my school? Oh, it’s in the historic office building in the floor between the Fuzzy Taco and some startups”

Two years ago is wild to me somehow, because it means I’m already overdue for a re-read, and the story is still fresh in my mind (read it shortly after it came out).

I think my first XC solo is still my favorite thing, but night flying is absolutely delightful!

yeah I mean statistically this feels likely

This reminds me that I always loved the spirt and idea of National Night Out (but also haven’t participated in like a decade 😳)

cool cool, that’s all I needed I think. Couldn’t tell from the other thing I saw if it was just that, or if it got, like, *graphically adult* or something. (I don’t presume my teen doesn’t see that stuff, but watching it with him? eh)

Ok, so I saw someone else saying something similar earlier. Fucked up in a way that would be fine to watch with a nearly-15yo who enjoys horror…or nah?

i feel like you already know the answer to this one (OBVIOUSLY, yes)

I’ll definitely give it a try, will report back.

Gonna start with this one, it seems like it has promise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RObuKTeHoxo

I'm convinced that the advent of social media and the ensuing propagation of made-up stories has been the absolute *ruin* of a lot of minds that first encountered it all in late adulthood.
