I'm a retired U.S. citizen living in Barcelona with my Spanish wife. My passions are photography, guitar playing, and sharing eternal wisdom with anyone interested in learning about how we're created and the future.
It's one of the reasons I quit that year and went to live with a friend in Denver for the rest of 1978 until my farmer step-dad died of a heart attack on Halloween day that year.

I was a welder for the American Crystal Sugar company in East Grand Forks. The last day I worked for that company, I was welding stainless steel at the top floor inside the boiler room at 145 F. and they forced me to work overtime outside welding a scroll that had broken with a windchill -100 F.

Why do you think I moved to California and now Barcelona? LOL!!! I have lots of memories of the frozen tundra in North Dakota, especially when I had to work outdoors when it was -30 F. with windchills of -100 F. I'm sure you remember days like that.

I learned to drive with ice on the windshield until the heat from the defroster melted a tiny hole for me to see better. We Norwegians are pretty stupid and didn't learn the cardboard trick that those Germans and Russians did up by Minot. LOL !!!

I think I was in that bar one time in the 1970's while I was there visiting with the drummer of the band I played in for a few years while we were going to college in Mayville, ND. He ended up being a high school teacher there for a couple of years. You had an interesting job.

I'm living in Barcelona trying to get legally married to my Spanish fiance'. Even though she is a citizen of Spain, the Social Security healthcare system here is rejecting her because she has never worked for a company in Spain. She worked as an architect for several years in the Netherlands.

Many of the people who work in that 24 hr. care home called Hatton Prairie Village I knew when I was living there before moving to CA in 1986. That place has won many awards for being one of the best care homes in the U.S. so Mom is in good hands.

"Why not, Minot" must have been the expression you Air Force airmen needed to help comfort yourselves after you first landed at that airbase. Grand Forks AB isn't much better but at least it's more populated in the Red River Valley near two of the bigger cities like G.F. and Fargo.

What base were you stationed. I lived in Grand Forks, ND for awhile and grew up on a farm 40 miles away near Hatton. I also knew people from Minot and have been there several times, too.
