Batteries definitely are useful for short distance passenger rail and trollies. I ran the numbers for freight trains and the math pencils out quite differently. The cost for a freight train to be electrified just for the batteries is $55 million. This is just for one freight train.

We have the 5th highest incarceration rate in the world which is increasing. Reduce education, reduce health care, crash the economy. Gov policies are going to increase desperation for many. This is not progress, this is not increasing well-being, this is not enabling the pursuit of happiness.
