I do think we wildly underestimate how scary the caricature of the Dems / global conspiracy is if you take it seriously. There’s many bubbles where it seems very real.

To some degree maybe this might finally help people understand social media isn’t a natural commons(?!)

there's a world where Perot doesn't happen, Clinton loses to bush 1, and brown wins in 96. That's seminal in a different way, as the whole third way thing never happens.

McCain believed in climate action and the court would have looked a lot different too.

And Obama too was pretty poor at governing and would have had a really hard time ever emerging without the feckless Democratic Party of the oughts, but he also destroyed his major contribution - the political machine that beat the dnc.

And generally a bunch of experts never employed much outside of them or long in that culture.

Bush gore prolly would have led to 4 years of gore but then 4-8 of McCain. Thats a vastly different Republican Party, too. Bush is similar to trump in that he was hollow and uninterested in governing, leading to the empowerment of the billionaire think tanks.

like the right path here, since the dems aren't reaching actual Americans, would be to start to build media infrastructure, not hammering hundreds of millions into outlets that clearly aren't reaching real Americans. also not blaming something that wasn't real, get off twitter bro.

not seeing it here, but for quasi-national-interesting-local nonprofit news, the Salt Lake City tribune and Philly Inquirer are great.

That’s possibly a platform problem not a content problem. But there are significant investments like this going on you can plug into. Just ask what breaking through actually means

Maybe genz’s trust is shattered because despite a massive investment in ostensibly grassroots young people organizing through tpusa it’s still the nepo babies or people friends with billionaires rising to the top.

yes. because last time they didn't get enough of them elected.
November 10, 2025 at 4:28 AM
and even f'the middle-left, this is a constitutional coalition, which folks from the right part of this coalition get much better than the internecine left.
November 10, 2025 at 4:27 AM
the fact that the people who were taken hostage are the considered the problem on this site for choosing one of several bad options while they still meaningfully control nothing in government is a huge win for people trying to prevent a mass middle-left coalition to get us over this.
November 10, 2025 at 4:26 AM
way underrated how much the median elected republican position is to only fund the military and the border patrol and turns out that aligns with current tax income anyway so everything else falling apart is just no a problem. Dem states already mobilizing compacts and agreements to fill in.

Machines are wonderous things that seem to cultivate a narrow skill set and reward it.

It’d be like if the far right in Europe started to wine and dine leadership from Mississippi.

Republican paradox - too many senators who want to preserve the filibuster so they can extract concessions in the future (so no nuclear option majority) but few senators willing to accept even the most meager concessions now.
November 7, 2025 at 8:40 PM
Kinda the point. It’s unlikely we are the audience. The political chattering classes refuse to admit republicans won’t compromise, can’t pass anything in the house for at least another 10 days if they did, and Dems are lobbing softballs.
