This dichotomy reminds of the "what about the mercury" argument against CFLs back in the day. cdk007 did a video where he showed that even if you chucked the CFL in the trash at EOL, you still ended up with less mercury pollution because of the amount of coal used to generate electricity.

They didn't get paid during the shutdown, it was back pay. Military members are also entitled to back pay, but during the last shutdown Trump illegally used funds appropriated for other purposes to send them checks.

No, that's not the test put in place by SCOTUS. The requirement they added was that Congress passes a law prohibiting a specific insurrectionist from running for office. Their standard would require such a law even if Merrick Garland had had the backbone to prosecute Trump.
