Kate’s reassurance she can manage for a few hours whilst she rests is all that Tess needs and in minutes of being held and soothed to sleep by Kate, Tess is in a deep sleep.

Tess did manage to tell Kate that she loves her before falling asleep and now Tess’s body completely relaxes against Kate.

Tess then smiles at Stephanie and nods her head in approval “You know, I actually think that is a really good idea and look at that. The pink is already beautiful.”

Tess is smiling whilst looking between both Stephanie and Violet’s canvas “Should I make a canvas of my own too?”

“Are you sure that you can manage them alone for so long?” Tess is clearly fighting sleep because her voice is becoming heavy.

“I know that our little ones sometimes cry at the same time to be fed and I really don’t want you to feel overwhelmed baby. Promise me you won’t feel overwhelmed baby.”

Tess figures that all Violet needs is a little inspiration to trigger her artistic mind and then Tess suggests something to help whilst smiling.

“You know what I think would look so beautiful Violet? The cat of your dreams playing in a beautiful field of many Violet flowers, it’ll be beautiful.”

Or both? I think that both could be a lot of fun You both stay right here.” Tess smiles whilst looking between Stephanie and Violet and then stands up carefully so that she doesn’t scare Violet.

“Okay, I have everything that we need. Are you girls ready to have a messy and carefree afternoon?”

Tess nods her head at her sister, then shares a warm smile with both Stephanie and Violet “You know what, I just thought of something Violet.”

Tess keeps her tone calm so she doesn’t scare Violet “I have been meaning to pick up one more hobby. How about we pick and do this one together?”

“I just don’t want our babies to think that I love them less because I am resting more. You and our children will always be my first priority.”

Tess closed her eyes, slowly falling asleep in Kate’s arms but she doesn’t want to admit that “I’ll just rest my eyes for a couple of minutes, darling.”

“Why don’t you tell me all about the multiverse thing that you do? I would really love to know all about it.”

Tess smiles and gently takes Violet’s hand and gives it a gentle squeeze before smiling “Tell me about the other stuff that you enjoy to do. I am a really good listener.”

“I want to say yes but then I would feel like such a bad mum for admitting that I need a break from the twins when it was me who begged you for them to begin with.”

Tess exhales softly and then leans against Kate “But I’m so tired Darling, I haven’t slept through the night for months. I’m tired.”

“I don’t know, I think it was just a moment of me being silly. I’m sorry Darling, I don’t know why I said that.” Tess is looking into Kate’s eyes and smiles.

“I know we love our twins and I would do it all over again if we could. I was just thinking we could have a at home date night.”

“Yes please, that would be amazing Stephanie. Thank you.” Tess smiles and then waits until Stephanie is back in silence and exhales softly.

“So Violet. What is it that you like to do in your free time? Do you like to hang out with friends or chill in front of a movie or book?”

Tess lifts her eyes from Violet and looks at Stephanie before clearing her throat and then brings the book back towards herself.

“You know what Violet, why don’t I read the book instead and you can just listen to me reading the book instead. Would you prefer that instead, Violet?”

“I can’t say I completely blame them, it takes a lot to raise children especially in a time like this, it takes a lot of strength and dedication.”

Tess smiles and runs her fingers through Kate’s hair and gently grips Kate’s hair “Do you still think we made the right choice having the twins?”

“I’m sure that we will, maybe just not to the point it becomes frustrating for our own children.” Tess is looking into Kate’s eyes and smiles.

“I’d also be happy if our grandchildren consisted of fur babies, they can be just as adorable as human grandchildren can be Darling, right?”

“That scares me because then it means that I am old and I don’t want to get old but I also do because it means that I have lived a long, happy life with you.”

Tess puts her arms over Kate’s shoulders and lovingly kisses her lips “What if our children give us grandchildren, Darling?”

“I do agree, my love. I’m not sure I’ll ever be ready for all their firsts because the more firsts that they have the older they are getting.”

Tess wraps her arms around Kate’s hips and then lightly presses a kiss on Kate’s lips “Before we know it they’ll be teenagers and won’t need us anymore.”

“Then I promise to be right there and holding your hand on their wedding day.” Tess smiles and lovingly presses a kiss on Kate’s lips.

“You know what else would have you crying, my darling? Our little ones when they are going to big school. What do you think of that, Darling?”
