Actually, turns out it got worse and went to 5-2, after I stopped watching

I think it finished 4-2 to Brighton 🥲

Not a chance

Yeah, terrible decision

Please don’t back him. I’ve seen enough

And please don't waste another window on this manager. It's not going to work (I'll eat my hat if it does), but I don't believe it needs to be this hard!

Not really sure where this diatribe leads me, other than to say, managing a football team of mostly adults shouldn't be more difficult than showing progress in every lesson when teaching young people.

After 6 months, what we should see is improvement, so what is he not getting across to these players? (if his statements of intent are genuine!)
December 15, 2025 at 12:57 PM
What's happening around the rest of the business, should not be a massive impact to what happens on the pitch (caveat - at a well run club!). Constant talk of 'fixing' isn't what should be happening.

I believe TF was a psychology student, so he should be pretty good at understanding people and knowing the best way to communicate with them. Players are not perfect, and certainly have to take responsibility for their own actions, but the eye test doesn't look good.
December 15, 2025 at 12:56 PM
The self-belief they had garnered through the adversity of last season appears to have all but evaporated. It just makes me sad.
December 15, 2025 at 12:55 PM
It may have been hard to see when just looking at league position, but AP did leave us a foundation to build on. The players had a togetherness and understanding, they even seemed to like each other.
December 15, 2025 at 12:55 PM
Unfortunately, injuries are part of the game, but our squad has more depth than last season, even if it is still limited. We no longer have Timo & Sergio, we're not playing Archie & Radu as first choice CBs!
December 15, 2025 at 12:55 PM
Yes, we are missing some players, but we have adequate (even good) substitutes to fill most of their positions and tweaks may be needed to ensure ball progression. This is the same for any football team.
December 15, 2025 at 12:55 PM
I'm not seeing progress or player development, so I guess my question is, how much time is really enough time? I think there has been long enough.
December 15, 2025 at 12:54 PM
We should be seeing new patterns of play, and discipline in the roles for whatever TF's style of play is, instilled in the players.
Fostering confidence in his system and nurturing the younger players is his responsibility.
December 15, 2025 at 12:54 PM
We appear to have changed our style of play, again, and a reasonable coach should be able to impress their style of play in a full preseason and identify their best starting XI.
