The Shape of Water [2017] is Guillermo del Toro’s next project involving the entities he probably feels most akin to: monsters.

Sentimental Value is the latest film by Joachim Trier, best known for the critically acclaimed The Worst Person in the World. Renate Reinsve returns to collaborate with Trier for the third time, and it also stars Stellan Skarsgård, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, and Elle Fanning. It has won the Grand Prix at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and has been submitted to the 98th Academy Awards as Norway's entry for the Best International Feature Film category. Reinsve plays a stage actress named Nora Borg, who reunites with her estranged father, the once-renowned film director Gustav Borg (Skarsgård). He is developing his comeback feature and offers his daughter a role, but she refuses to be a part of it. He instead casts Rachel Kemp, a young, popular Hollywood actress, and now Nora and her sister Agnes (Lilleaas) must navigate and deal with the complexities behind their current family relationship with their father. 

Absurdist filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos teams up with his Poor Things muse, Emma Stone for Kinds of Kindness (2024) —a dark comedy anthology that boasts an ensemble of genre actors playing multiple roles across three segments. Stone is joined by Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, and more who switch personalities, wardrobes, hairstyles, and more, but one thing remains common: their ability to test their own limits

If they falter as much as below 3 miles per hour, they get three warnings. On the third strike, they’re shot dead. This is The Long Walk, Francis Lawrence’s adaptation of Stephen King’s novel of the same name.

Written and directed by Guillermo del Toro, he adapts Mary Shelley’s classic novel with the same name, and this is a huge passion project he’s been busy developing for many years. This time around, it stars Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein's monster, while also having a supporting cast of other amazing actors such as Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, Lars Mikkelsen and Charles Dance. Victor Frankenstein is a scientist obsessed with life and death, so he decides to create a monster made from different body parts and bring it to life. Ultimately, Frankenstein is a tragic tale that makes us wonder what it truly means to be human.
