Car nerd, as boring as the cars I drive
I got in a very rare (for me) argument on a VW forum once, because a guy trying to flog a diesel Serena described it as ‘nippy’, so I quoted the acceleration figures at him.

Found a clip of it, that’s a good example.

Bit before my time that one, grew up in a house with no TV.

When they cut to an older model just as it blows up.

Waitrose? Someone’s doing well.

Maybe it was to save us from Aston owners with 007 plates?

I’m pretty sure none of the prefix plates had a number starting with a zero, so it’ll be PO09.

People are odd.

Needed new fronts on our Mii. For a small car, they’re pretty pricey as they’re an unusual size, narrow and low profile.

Went with a cheaper option, and regretting it already, on damp roads it spins the wheels on anything more than half throttle.

Amazing number of 20+ year old cars, still in daily service.

1.3 diesel, that’s going to be slow when it’s fully loaded.

One of my favourite films as a kid.

I’d always assumed it was sold under the Opel badge as well, didn’t know it wasn’t.

That wheel arch bump is the giveaway.

Do mongrels still exist? I thought they all got a made up name and a 2k price tag these days.

Not my bag, but there’s a lot of work gone into that, to fit a Scirocco front end and Merc rear lights.

You have to wonder why though.

It’s going to be incredibly complicated to implement, and predictably a colossal disaster.

It was for a few months, now back doing home shopping delivery.

I know! I do spend a fair amount of time at that Maccies to be honest, so if you’d find me anywhere, it’s there.

I spy a V6 bumper. Very nice.

I’ve seen this around, I’ve definitely let him out of a junction before, just to get a chance to admire it.

Interesting that it’s got an early front grille, on an 03 plate.
