aya has been telling me about super robot wars y a little bit and it made me come up with a silly concept for a mecha anime
the premise is simple i think the setting is high school, as it usually is, except all of the giant robots are connected to the school's extra-curricular club activities and are themed around and powered by them e.g. chess club mech powered/controlled by chess, debate club mech powered/controlled by debate the protagonists are, of course, a group of 5 or so scrappy delinquents who don't belong to any club but are failing their classes and have to form a study group, inadvertently awakening the study group mecha the study mecha is both the weakest and the strongest one, since it's powered by studying and knowledge, so every fight is the delinquents trying to learn their opponents and the subject they represent to turn it back on them there would be episodes like "the delinquent squad is bickering amongst themselves about something petty, powering up the debate club's argument-fueled mech!! can they put aside their dumbass differences for five minutes or will they be destroyed???"

meanwhile, in dreams “sometimes i think to myself, ‘when we used the tomato arts to combine an octopus with a balloon because it would be funny, was it actually funny? … yes, it was.” -orchestra professor as i’m pointing a shark combined with an AK-47 at him we had been trying to figure out who was responsible for the hybrid creatures running around and i yelled at him something like “you did this and you didn’t tell anyone!? you didn’t even send an informative pamphlet!?”
