First time I overpaid for games at a BOOK OFF in a long time but I couldn’t resist these - 700 yen each

I am listening to Night Flight Orchestra more than Soilwork and Arch Enemy these days…Bjorn has a great voice and it is easy to throw on while doing something. For easy listening classic rock vibe fans #metalsky

Zoomed in on something someone uploaded to Archive "upscaled and touched up by hand as much as possible to allow for printing at 300dpi at B2 size", FFS...

Tenrin no Sho Chicago (天麟の書 死嘩護) which is the cancelled VISCO arcade game with assets that would flow into the Breakers game later.

One interesting column in Beep MD is "Beeple Land" which is like where you can read troll-ish internet posts from young gamers before posting to the internet was a thing. Here the magazine specifically brought together comments about Namco. To remove my bias here is Google Translate version LOL

Love seeing the meager "first time" mentions of games that would become legendary later...here the writer is describing Street Fighter II as a mix between action and sports...

The editors of Beep Mega Drive sent a copy of "Bahamut Senki" as a reward for this 16 year sending in photographic proof that the girl in the Super Monaco GP title screen is Playboy Playmate Mercy Rooney, because for some reason they had that issue in possession. #sega

I can guess they decided to rename it from "Amaterasu" to Blue Almanac because naming your game after the ultimate god of Shinto is probably a bad idea. Gotta try to play this one some time since I think I have a physical version somewhere and my Mega Sg has been collecting dust... #megadrive

Usually I gloss over strategy guides but "Attack the Populous" as a title caught my eye with this one, I looked up if auctions exist and it's out there - but a fairly rare one

Falcom 1990 recruitment ad (combined with an ad for the Falcom shop in Yoyogi at the bottom) is highlighting the partnerships with other companies and "how many people connections you will feel": Brother, Hudson Soft, Victor, King Record, Kadokawa, Kyodai, Media Genic, Sierra, Epoch, Sega #falcom

There are probably nice color photos of this if you could track down the particular 1990 issue of Young Magazine comic, the Namco co-sponsored "Young Magazine Cup" had gamers battle in Winning Run Suzuka GP with the 18 year old winner getting a 8 day, 6 night trip to the USA. #namco

Also listened to the self titled album by Joan Armatrading front to back for first time, very nice stuff...a shame I never heard her much before recently. It is well produced and played, drummer from Fairport Convention. Soulful rock folk with nice grooves and hooks.

Mini pop up interview about Data East Monday Night Football pin from Beep MD with Joe Kaminkow, He is called here a "design genius" and though the interview laments poor English skills could tell from design sketches the talent Joe had. Also says his father was also in games? #pinball

This arrangement of what was originally a slower tempo, moody piano protest song is catchy, beautiful and my favorite of the several versions of this piece - it almost sounds like comfy JRPG music (as the ultimate compliment for my gamer brethren to hear)…Farewell to Stromness by Nicola Benedetti

Calendar entry was included for one of the most unfortunate cancelled games of all time, Sega Mega Drive "Moon Dancer: Return of the Fairy King" with artwork by Naoyuki Kato/Hisato Fukumoto... #megadrive

This is almost a pixel art sized screenshot but it is interesting for me to see a wall of Sega Master System boxes at "Virgin Mega Store" on Oxford Street in London in 1989...on the very right are stacked vertically "PC Engine games"..squinting hard, Victory Run?? The third looks like a Namco cover.

More screens and sprites from Blade Land the unreleased PCE Mother inspired RPG, cars zooming around the map are seen. It brags about having 1500 screens and adds a subtitle to the title "Blade Land: Tokyo City Quest" ... #pcengine

Omega Fighter was going to be released for both PC Engine and Mega Drive but never happened. I see at least this Chris Covell site here captured it. Deserves NECRetro entry and Wikipedia updates probably... www.chrismcovell.com/secret/sp_un...

I didn't know Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac has such a cute single cover...one of my favorite songs of theirs with the light plucky bass line and relaxed vibes

I don't see it well documented that Yuurei-kun (幽霊君 / MSX) was listed as to-be-ported to PC Engine but never happened. #pcengine
