Like, these houses have colored mortar! They mixed oxidized metals into the mortar to give it a color and a unique appearance. I want to make unique buildings like this
One of the earliest Mushroom Houses. While it's structure is pretty similar to a standard 2 story house, it's still built out of large stones pulled from Lake Michigan like the other Mushroom Houses, making it visually fit in with the other ones in the area. The defining trait of this mushroom house is the red mortar used to hold the stone together. The red color was achieved by mixing oxidized iron into the mortar when it was being mixed, resulting in a red color Another early Mushroom Houses. While it's structure isn't unique, it still features a unique attic window, with the roof sloping in a natural curve like the window is poking up from under a blanket, and it's still built out of large stones pulled from Lake Michigan like the other Mushroom Houses. The defining trait of this mushroom house is the green mortar used to hold the stone together. Like the red mortar house, the green mortar was made by mixing oxidized copper into the mortar when it was being made

These houses are full of personality and style. I want to be making stuff that's unique like these
The Sucher House, built by Earl Young on the shore of Lake Michigan. Like the other mushroom houses, it's built out of large stones and bricks, usually pulled out of the nearby Lake Michigan. The Sucher House is designed around the number 3: the house is visually split into 3 sections (left, right, and center), the layers of the house are split into 3 (walls, roof, and chimney all being equally tall), the chimney actually has 3 crowns and caps, and Earl Young when showing the location to the client was quoted saying "From here I want you to see one-third sky, one-third water, one-third grass." And this house is surrounded by a stone brick wall, designed with a rolling wave pattern, to mimic the waves of Lake Michigan

It's hard imagining modern mainstream Batman doing something like this, which is a shame
A frame from the end of a Batman: The Animated Series episode called "Baby-Doll," showing the villain, a character named Mary Louise Dahl (aka Baby Doll) who suffers from a rare medical condition that kept her from physically aging past 5, hugging Batman as he consoles her. During the climax of the episode, Baby Doll runs into a fun house house of mirrors, where she sees a mirror that distorts her reflection that shows her what she would look like as a 30 year old woman, if she didn't have the medical condition that kept her from aging. She unloads her gun into the mirror, still trying to shoot the shards even when the gun runs out of ammo. Batman appears and gently takes the gun from her before she hugs him
