After finishing Twelve Months” last night, finally got around to starting the Mistborn trilogy. About 20% of the way into the 1st and I find it to be intriguing. I can’t say it’s sucking be in the way it has some fans - but good enough to keep me engaged. #mistborntrilogy #twelvemonths

I didn’t really have a dog in the Super Bowl hunt but was pulling for Seattle and glad they won. Still - have to say - both the game and the ads were historically boring last night. Very thankful for BB’s halftime show.

I just finished “Twelve Months” - the latest installment of the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher and it was FLAWLESS. I’ve been missing Dresden and his Crewe so much since “Battleground”. I can’t think of any series that I’ve enjoyed so much as this one and this book is one of the very best of the bunch

Have to say - my wife finally convinced me to try Pilates and I am loving it - wonderful workout - particularly for a man in his mid-sixties. It doesn’t replace cardio or resistance training - just supplements and balances. I always feel my best at the end of a session.

It’s funny how every Star Fleet Academy post I read is either - this is soooo good - or - this is terrible / unwatchable. IMO, neither sentiment is true. This is a consistently mediocre entry in the franchise. Vox In Excelso is the only episode that’s broken through for me. VIE was excellent.

We started the new season of Lincoln Lawyer - watched the first 3 episodes - we really enjoy that show. Fifteen years ago, we would have binged straight through all 10 episodes. These days - doesn’t matter how much we like the show, sleep is just too precious.

Elden Ring - this game gets fun when you start ti win Boss fights on the 1st try. It’s never not stressful but being able to do that is a source of enormous satisfaction.

I have to say…I love Wonder Man more with every episode I watch. This is the freshest, most creative work that Marvel’s done since WandaVision!!

Elden Ring - Starscourge Radahn is no more - the stars are free to resume their movement across the night sky - and my Tarnished is heading to Nokron. All hail Eleonora’s Poleblade! What a devastating weapon. Who needs a shield.

I’ve seen a lot of really striking landscapes in the games I’ve played. Have to say - the Siofra Well is right up there at the top of the list - simply gorgeous!

Elden Ring - must admit…there are few things that have granted more gaming satisfaction over the years than winning one of this game’s Boss Fights - not just the Great Rune holders but the Gaol captives and the Dungeon Bosses as well. Was hesitant to give the game another try but very glad I did!

So…Elden Ring…Liurnia finished - Rennala tamed - in service to Ranni. Finally done with this swampy slog. On to the Underworld to meet Blaise and conquer Nokron. Hoping to find a Somber Smithing Stone 7 along the way. Progress is slow but satisfying.

Finished Glen Cook’s new Black Company novel - “Lies Weeping” - last night. I enjoyed it but also found the structure a bit awkward - 3 narrators is at least 1 too many. Looking forward to seeing where he takes this but also excited to move to Butcher’s “12 Months”! Dresden finally back in the house

If you aren’t watching “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”, you most definitely should. It is superbly written and acted - near perfectly done. I’m loving every minute and only want more - wish this had all dropped together. It’s a very long wait between episodes.

This one took us completely by surprise - watched it on a lark and couldn’t stop laughing - amazing cast and over the top premise. I can’t recommend it highly enough - superb movie!!

Watched the 1st episode of S3 Shrinking last night - it was an excellent start to a series that has been consistently excellent. Harrison Ford is doing something special in his portrayal of a Parkinson’s sufferer and it was overwhelming to see Michael J. Fox make the contribution that he did. 10/10!

Star Fleet Academy - S1 E4 - Vox In Excelso - Voice On High - breakthrough moment for the series! My hope is that they find a way to build on what they gave us with this episode. First time since E1 that they gave us stakes high enough to honor the character of the franchise. Very well done.

Progress with Elden Ring - finished all of Limgrave & most of Liuirnia - actually enjoying it this time around. I think I gave up on my 1st play through when I tapped the cursed chest in Limgrave and wound up in Caelid - it was humbling. This time - much better - solid build and developing skills 👍

I’ve always tried to maintain a pretty regular workout routine - either running or lifting 5 days a week - and never really thought to add anything. I was so wrong - finally tried Pilates this week and MAN - that is a great workout - particularly for an older guy like me! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Man - just watched the first 2 episodes of Wonder Man and that was the best work Marvel has done in MANY years. Enjoyed every single minute of this show. If you haven’t given it a look, then que this one up immediately!! You’ll thank me! 10/10!!

Just killed Godrick the Grafted in Elden Ring for the 1st time. My 1st attempt was just unending frustration. I think I finally get this game. Incredibly demanding but also incredibly rewarding and satisfying. On to Liurnia and Caelid. Also time to hunt down Eleanora and take her Poleblade.

It’s been a great few months for streaming - new seasons of Landman, The Pitt, All Creatures Great & Small and Fallout - launch of Starfleet Academy, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms & Wonder Man - new seasons of Shrinking & Lincoln Lawyer. No night of the week that I can’t wait to turn on the TV.

Just watched the 2nd episode of “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” and I continue to love this show. I don’t know how anyone wouldn’t enjoy this - IMO, it’s close to perfectly executed. Can’t wait for E3. 10 / 10!!

The only good thing about the Bears losing last weekend is that I do t have to care about football any more until the fall. The only reason I’m turning on another football game this season is to watch Bad Bunny.
