Already exists, had a TV with this funtionality on holiday. However, doesn't work as well as you think it might because a TV remote isn't on a desk, you wave it about. Much harder to control the pointer, ends up all over the place. Preferred the 'normal' way in the end.

Smell a rat here. No access to the internet back when these were around (early 70s) and any business that could have conceivably stored this kind of data (porno bookshop, porno author etc) Would have balked at the punch card / switch entry system. No kb in sight. arstechnica.com/gadgets/2022...
