You don't HAVE to take that hand, the game doesn't force you... I'm just saying, the world is literally ending. People are doing their best to stay sane. Lyle as well.

Is it pretty? No. Nobody's corruption in this game is. But the core idea of this game, is extending a hand to those who are fighting their own minds in this madness. No matter how unpleasant, someone needs you, and they CAN be saved. They CAN win over this corruption. But. It's gonna be ugly.

And Lyle isn't the only one whose mind got warped by the Visitor. Whose ID and Ego (we don't support Freud in this house but it's a fun STORY TOOL) got separated and struggle with keeping their ugly side from blossoming into a grotesque bloom. He doesn't kill people left and right. He grows obsessed

Idk I just love everything about the writing surrounding Lyle, and I think the people who declare him a monster and "kill him every time", I just.... I'm not Asking you to forgive a stalker. I'm asking for some media literacy. First time? Sure, I get it. But people are complex..

Like the soul stealing photography thing makes so much sense. Combined with the voyeuristic nature of a camera... I don't think he was full on stalking Sam until the corruption took hold. He is so deep into the soul stealing when he does it to you, but when he faces it in Mazes & Wizards?

He's known as the Shut In, the Jumpy Neighbour. He's genuinely surprised when people care to even say hello. He stutters and stumbles over every damn conversation he has. He apologises when there's no need to do so. He can't even ask for bandaids or antidotes without being like Y'know, if it's okay
