Finish Trek To Yomi and then maybe finally return to Dragon Quest 11 for a third time (nothing wrong with the game, but both times I’ve started it so far I’ve been distracted by a shinier new game).

Unrelated, but I realized today I don't see the button to copy a gift link anymore. Was curious if maybe there's a cap to them (although I don't think I shared that many) or if I'm just blind and can't see it after the revamp? Currently subscribed as a Reader

It’s been so long since I read it, but maybe The Girl With All the Gifts? I know it had a Last of Us “spores infect humans” type plot, but my damned memory can’t recall much beyond that (it’s been 10 years per Storygraphs)

Ooo, I loved Langan’s The Fisherman but it’s the only one of his I’ve read. Amazing book, will have to keep an eye out for this new collection.

Took less than a week for Peacemaker’s plot to become reality

"do it all again"

Well, not the pandemic part. Happy to leave that out of it this go-round 😂

A Switch Lite and Hades were a big boon to my mental health during the pandemic. Very excited to do it all again on that same handheld with the sequel.

I can do a “Hello, Kermit the Frog here”, but literally can’t say anything else in his voice.

Isn’t this basically just the 47 Meters Down sequel?

Oh wow, any plans for a Polygon post regarding that audience discussion? That sounds really interesting (especially having read the novel).

Like you say, I know the usage of “parody” here is to avoid any legal liability, but it seems so brazen to do this to potentially the biggest star in the US who protects her image and brand like no other. Hopefully she can fight back through the legal system, although in 2025 I have my doubts.

Same here, public school in SC from 97 to 05. People who aren’t in Southern states have no clue. Had a middle school teacher who exclusively referred to the Civil War as “the war of Northern Aggression.”

Did a double feature the other week with this and Paul Walter Hauser's Luckiest Man in America. Was very satisfying.

Reminds me of when I saw Vice at a theater when I lived in SC, and the crowd cheered and applauded Cheney’s final speech where he excused everything he did and basically says he was justified to do it.

It’s definitely a step down but there are some real gems in there! The Florida episodes and Work Bus are some that immediately come to mind.

Wanted to say I just finished reading this (despite never having read Moby Dick) and really loved this whole piece. Pieces like this are why I subscribe to Aftermath, thanks so much for sharing this with us. Also kinda made me want to attend this, although it’s a long trek across the country

Let’s be honest - they’ll just choose the cow like everyone else, and they’ll be right to do so 😂

The Chihuly Garden and Glass museum is really cool, and also right next to the MoPop (also a good time) and the Space Needle.

Mariners also have a 9-game homestand, T-Mobile park is a great ballpark and a fun time.

I feel like @mattsinger.bsky.social did this a year or so ago, but might have the wrong critic.
