SW-engineer who made https://customerping.ai, an AI that finds customers for your business while you do something else.

Now working on eliza.money, a social network designed for private stock investors.

I love "Matrix".
Wow, I split my big web app into 15 little backend servers and one reverse proxy. I felt it was difficult to observe 15 servers at once.

Everything became a lot when I began to use kitty sw.kovidgoyal.net/kitty/

Screenshot of the kitty with three of the 15 servers:

OMG, I have been refactoring a monolith into 35 separate TypeScript projects! Took me 2 weeks until every package had the right name and the package graph was free of cycles.

Now I need to break the UI into several components as well. Afterwards, I can start to deploy again.

Phew!

What I do on a Saturday morning: 😂

One AI (Eliza) is watching me and summarizes what I said to another AI (Dividend Dan, my future expert for good dividend stocks) – all inside my social network for stock investors. I must say, she's right:

Eliza (eliza.money) had her sarcastic day today. I had to LOL when I read what she had to say about Cisco stocks: 😂

Ha, and she's even able to vary the tone from time to time: ;-)

Working on eliza.money again this morning. Eliza is happily commenting on current developments in the stock market. Got this gem from Eliza a few minutes ago: 😂

Taking down the Christmas decorations in the New Year takes more time than I thought.

Adding more metrics to my stock screener.

Found some interesting stocks by screening for a negative price change in the last 12 months but a positive price change in the last 6 months.

Combined this with some metrics for undervalued stocks, and bingo: 😮 #buildinpublic

Yep, my iPhone can confirm this! Happy New Year, Victor!

Ugh and Yay! 😎

After two days of fighting different frameworks, I finally ditched them all and wrote my own solution to create a fully responsive data table for my stock screener in eliza.money #buildinpublic

Good cleanup activity for the holidays: Getting my podcast episodes in order.

I realized that soooo many lovely people have been my guests over time.

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all of you! podcasts.bohlenlabs.com/credits

Good! The refactoring is over and everything works again.

Want to find stocks that are comparatively cheap these days, so you could buy them at a good price?

Using the stock screener in "Eliza and the Moneymakers", you would do it like this: #buildinpublic

OMG, did you ever run I a side project in an area where the ID of an object can CHANGE?

This will cost me at least 2 full days of refactoring now! 😳 #buildinpublic

@mjwhansen.com I was thinking of your case against this. Just found it in an old book: "The intelligent investor" by Ben Graham. This is from a comment by Jason Zweig, from the 2000s when the stock market collapsed. See "Commentary on Chapter 17" in the book (it's about weird accounting practices).

Wow, if I had $724k, I would know what to do with it. 😳 (Playing with my new stock screener today.) #buildinpublic

Nice first result for today. Now I need to work on a responsive table that shows the numbers. #buildinpublic

Haha, while playing with my new stock screener, I found the best stock ticker symbol ever! 😂

Okay, the UI of the stock screener seems to work:

What kind of event storming method are you using? I am using the original one by @ziobrando.bsky.social. In his book "Introducing Event Storming" he shows a color grammar. It precisely describes the order of Event Storming elements inside a process model. Event -> policy -> command.

December. Time to decorate the house!
December 1, 2024 at 8:30 PM
Yay, it worked! I already followed 125 people from the Fediverse, and their posts are showing up in my feed.

Ha, thanks to @vpon.me's feedback about eliza.money, I was able to improve the UI design of the homepage as well as the app itself. Thank you, Victor!
