Been playing around with some Menu mockups to go with my training levels. Sort of working through some ideas and how I want the background to look. I think I'm planning on going with the darker one at the moment since it works a bit better as an overlay!

Been working on downscaling and cleaning some of the textures today. Got a lot of them down from 1k to 128 or 256. It's kind of crazy since it pretty much reads exactly as it had before, but now has just that slight crunchy edge that I associate with a lot of PS2 games.

One of the things that really helped was figuring out ways of getting some noise in the pixels so that they had some actual textural interest to break up the flat surfaces. Played around with an multiply noise idea that a friend had suggested in call. It seriously helped a ton with the look!

All the talk on texture stuff inspired me to do some low res texture studies tonight. Grabbed a couple screen shot refs from MGS2 and attempted to hand build some low res textures to match the backgrounds. Was honestly kind of crazy cool trying to figure out how to replicate some of the pixel noise!

Like it's crazy, went looking for some rips of some MGS2 textures for size comparisons (which was super interesting since they didn't use standardized formats or ratios). But even these compiled textures are around 256 to 128 Pixels for huge chunks of map!

Still needs some tweaks, but I'm getting the hang of setting up a lot of the dynamic camera zoom in's when Bod performs specific tasks. Really loving what I can do with it. Need to ripple it out to a handful of the remaining interactables and Bod's wall hang now.

Wow I think he just about cleared out the entire bar! Alky really knows how to pack it away, although I don't envy him the eventual hangover that's going to be coming from that literal beer belly X3!!

Been working on finally cleaning up and finishing a handful of the meshes and textures for once in the game. Got the little goal marker finished up for the Training levels!

Been working on updating the camera system to have some small movement to it! It's not quite enough give a massive advantage, but will definitely help with some of the more immediate things in Bod's vicinity. Thankfully it's modular also, so I can reduce it or increase it with even camera position.

Whats the point of having ruins to explore if there isn't loot to grab from them! Working on updating a few of my placeholders in Project vault to actually look like something! One of the main ones this week is some of the salvage in the testing levels!

My poor PSP has been out of commission for almost a decade now due to a broken backplate on the UMD door. Finally picked up some parts over the last few weeks to tear it apart and switch out the door. Finally working again after so long ;o;!!

Been working on a short story the last month or so featuring a bit of a streamer lizard character. Wanted to doodle some of the scenes up over the last few days. Gotta make sure this streamer stays well hydrated haha.
