Belonging...is active and reciprocal...something of you and the community that receives you. Both...must adjust, accommodate and be changed by the relationship. That mutual obligation...builds trust, respect, commitment and the emotional resilience we are losing. theconversation.com/the-price-of...
The price of belonging is inconvenience. Are we still willing to pay it?
Every time we choose people over convenience, we invest in community. The real question in our homes, workplaces and democracies is whether we are willing to pay that price.

Be aware emotions of others can influence our perception of a situation. Like passing clouds, observe, rather than absorbing or emotionally reacting. Breathe and reset, for example, by stepping outside, listening to music, or focusing on something that grounds you. Your energy is yours to protect.

Black heron forms itself into canopy of shade to lure & feed on small fish - video www.audubon.org/news/watch-b...

The canopy also reduces glare, making the bird's keen vision more effective. They've turned "throwing shade" into a foraging strategy.

There's a nice video of the effect in action at this Audubon page:

The black heron (Egretta ardesiaca) is native to eastern Africa.

They feed on small animals in waterways by using a type of hunting called 'canopy feeding', tenting their wings like an umbrella that creates shade to attract small animals.
