Philly homer. Searcher of Animal Chin.
If you can remember your parents or grandparents hanging those mini trash bags from the cigarette lighter in their vehicles, than you are my friend.

Do Phish and moe. fans just kind of agree to agree or what? What’s the dynamic there?

Great interview today with Chris Russo and Kevin Loughery, on the documentary, “Soul Power: The Legend of the American Basketball Association,” on Amazon Prime. A big difference Loughery notes between ABA/NBA legend Dr. J and the NBA players of today? Dr. J knew he was an entertainer, embraced it.

At some point, can Stanley Tucci just have some Wendy’s Tendys or something? I can’t take much more of him eating so authentically and excellently all the time.

Mad Dog Russo in vintage form these past two days: ripping the boredom that was Super Bowl 60 and leaving the NBA and its institutionalized tanking in absolute tatters. Great, great radio. #SiriusXM #NBA #MadDog

NFC avian-nicknamed teams go back-to-back over AFC human-nicknamed teams in the Super Bowl.

Seahawks punter or placekicker has to be MVP, right? Right?!?

The Applebee’s O-M-Cheeseburger represents either the downfall of humanity or the moment we cross over per Arthur C. Clarke’s “Childhood’s End.” Either way, a milestone.

Please stop referring to whatever is going on tonight as the “Pro Bowl.” No coaches wearing Hawaiian shirts and leis? No Pro Bowl.

In hindsight, some of the Eagles’ wins this past season that seemed impressive at the time because of the opposition, turned out not to be that impressive based on how that opposition finished: Tampa, Vikings, Chiefs, Lions. … Evidence of a topsy turvy NFL season.

The Pats are great at letting opponents beat themselves. That is no small thing. Whatever the spread winds up as for the Super Bowl, I think the Pats can confidently be bet to beat it. Would not at all be surprised for them to win the whole thing.

Kevin Burkhardt wearing a three-quarter zip under a sport coat with the three-quarter zip collar sticking out over the sport coat collar/lapel? Hmmmm. Hmmm..

100% on Sean Payton. Take the points, buddy, always take the points.

God bless Alex Honnold! A great American athlete, artist, and inspiration! Blessings to his family and team!

Freaks & Geeks on Amazon. The last few episodes: Ben Stiller as a Secret Service agent; Lindsay Weir ditches the summer academic decathlon at UM to go on Dead Tour. “Ripple” plays over the final scene. Classic stuff, kids.

We always want to believe that our NFL team will build on its prior year if it came close but didn’t reach the ultimate goal. The reality is more like the fine print on investment vehicles: “Past performance is not indicative of future results.” But that’s also good news for a previously bad team.

The snow games today are great TV. Al Michaels on Mad Dog Unleashed last week talked about why the NFL is such great TV. He said he and Jimmy Johnson were talking on the field once and JJ said: “In the stadium, a 4-yard run is a 4-yard run. You (TV) guys can make a 4-yard run look like Armageddon.”

If you’re NE, do you give serious consideration to just kneeling down three straight times and punting on every possession? The Texans offense is the Pats’ best offense.

That Broncos TD at 0:22 in the 2nd quarter is a “champs” kinda play. Just sayin’

Sean McAdam is the best. But one correction from his Mad Dog Russo interview today: the Dead did not play at Altamont. The vibe was weird. They hit the bricks before their set. It’s part of the documentary.

There’s a Love Boat episode where Captain Steubing races another cruise ship captain, played by Ted Knight, on dog sleds on a dirt road in Ketchikan. Don’t tell me TV didn’t reach its zenith in the ‘80s.

Bowl Season is the best. Cities all over hosting games. Quirky traditions, trophies, and mascots. Now with opt-outs and mystical portal quests, fans get to see players who didn’t necessarily get much action during the season, and that’s fun, too.
