I will say as sad as it is that Sozin outlawed same-sex marriages it is lowkey funny that the implied reason he did it (and I assume /only/ reason since he didn’t show any homophobia before) is cause he was jealous of his gay sister and her being 10x better of a leader than he ever would be.

Update: we’re at episode 10 and he’s really enjoying it. It’s really neat watching it with him cause he has been practicing martial arts for as long as I’ve been alive so I’m getting a history lesson on all the forms and stuff. It’s neat
Just convinced my dad to do an atla rewatch with me let’s fucking gooooo

It’s so strange to see fanart of kyoshi with rangi where kyoshi is drawn paler than rangi. Like if you have enough context to know about her gf you should have enough context to know she’s pretty explicitly darker skinned 🙃
