My first attempt at C/2023 A3. This was taken at 19:25 from my house. I found it using my 9X63mm binoculars about a half hour earlier but waited for more darkness to help my iPhone get some contrast.

My view of tonight’s aurora. Before the western sky had darkened, the darker east sky was already glowing red on the horizon. Awesome show. These were taken at 20:15 EDT.

Northern lights visible to the camera. The green is barely visible as a glow on the horizon. The red is not detectable visually.

My view of the northern lights last night around 20:00EDT. They were hard to see with just my eyes. My iPhone camera had no problems.

Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #731,406! A happy user I R. I was eagerly awaiting an invite in the beta days. They opened up shortly after I joined.

On a trip to northwest Ontario eventually. Spending a night in Thunder Bay. The view from my hotel room is pretty nice. Sleeping Giant in the middle. The Terry Fox Monument just NE of Thunder Bay on the TransCanada.

I took this at 04:00 local time (08:00 UTC) looking west. The lights were moving quite a bit. I would say it covered 2/3 of the sky. Not the best I’ve seen but the best in about 30 years.

My contribution to the eclipse pics. Taken with a Lumix DC-G95, 40-150mm Olympus PRO lens and a Thousand Oaks solar filter. Handheld - no tripod.
