Feels good to be done after more than 6 months!
Being the masochist I am, I'm going to start a new version asap that will be about 60% the size so I have one that I have one that doesn't weigh 80 lbs and is easier to show other people without them coming to my home to see the full sized version.

So many other things got in the way of finishing. I'm so relieved to have it basically done.
Next I'll need to find a table to set it on that can securely support it's 75+ pounds of glass in the front room of our home.

week or so. Silicone glue forms a skin quickly, but takes a while to completely cure. I'll have to scrape it away a couple times before I'm satisfied its done.

The next and last update will show the finished piece standing up with as much light shining through as I can manage.

with the Aleutians, & lots of cleaning. it's finally sealed into its box of glass!

It is still horizontal on the table as I'm letting the glue harden for several days before standing it up to finish the last task of cleaning the excess glue from sealing it up. That will take a

My journey started in Michigan (yes snow) then biggest move to Australia (no) to Colorado (snow) and eventually northern California.

I miss the snow days! I live in northern California now and see snow on the mountains, but never out the front door.
I lived in snowy country the first half of my life and miss it but enjoy the sunny skies and moderate temperatures here.
Oh well.
