Can’t see any reason for sw engineers to choose Windows with this weird direction they are doubling down on

So odd because Microsoft has building dev tools in their DNA… their OS doesn’t look like anything a builder who wants OS control could choose

Mac or Linux it is for devs

Is there an European #cloud provider which offers managed messaging solutions? Deploying w\ helm on k8s is not good enough.
I hope I missed some, but basically looking at the usual #eu suspects, none seems to offer #k8s plus managed (!) messaging platforms + private networking (+ some form of iac)

How we tracked down a Go 1.24 memory regression across hundreds of pods | Datadog
We rolled out Go 1.24 and saw a memory regression. Here's how we dug into system metrics, uncovered a bug in the runtime allocator, and worked with the Go team to help fix it.

Hey bubble I'm looking for some #dev tips and resources for better organization of my work across #OSS / work projects for better #productivity & #knowledge organization. Lightweight Kanban?
Taking notes in #obsidian and I need a stricter approach . I keep forgetting where I wrote down something..

Coincidentally read this part of Terry Pratchett's "Guards! Guards!" over lunch. (My first Pratchett book.) Here, the soon-to-be-former heads of the city are realizing there's a new monster in charge, each wishing one of the others would stand in protest. I heard Pratchett was incisive, but dang. 👀

Brexit didn’t result in UK industry stepping up domestic production to meet demand, or consumers switching to UK products once the UK began trading with Europe on 3rd party terms.

The current situation, by which I mean dumpster fire, is a perfect chance for European cloud providers to double down and invest in their ecosystem. Managed kubernetes is a decent start, but after searching for 20 minutes I have nfc whether they offer a decent messaging platform + IAM + API/SDKs.

I hope for Bluesky to become a cooperative ("Genossenschaft" for the Germans) for subscribing members. One person, one share, one vote. Make it structurally impossible for it to become corporate or billionaire owned.

First toot of the year had to be about #MicrosoftTeams :(
So apparently in 2025 there is no proper (non-PWA) app available for #linux desktop. At least Firefox got screen sharing support recently. This is truly a v2 experience 😕
