Fantastic keynote & student invited talk by @cellforganized.bsky.social at our WashU Plant Microbial Bioscience retreat! Really cool work on intracellular positioning of organelles and condensates in cyanobacteria.
Was a pleasure to host you!

Ok I'll use this as an excuse for a 1st-ish post:
Congratulations 🎉 🎉 🎉 🎉 to the two new PhD Candidates in my lab! Emmily and Sherlyn worked so hard to pass their exams. So *thankful* to have my whole team together and ready to do science!

Here's a bioA trace from my old cucumber samples - this is run with a plant specific chip. Looks like 28S is just under 4000 nt and 18S just under 2000. Peak under 200 is small RNA zone. I think the peaks I selected on the TapeStation are right? We'll run a gel on Monday and see I guess...

Ok let's try Bluesky for science advice....
We just bought a dept TapeStation and I assumed it would run exactly like a BioAnalyzer, but it seems it can't get accurate RIN scores from tomato leaf RNA? Anyone else see this?
RIN=5.7?
