Stop spreading that lie. No, VAs did not consent. It is not consent if the options are you get the job or you don't get the job. That's just exploitation of people not in a position to turn down money they need in the now without being able to worry about the future.

I actually gave Sandfall the benefit of the doubt when the AI textures got noticed at first. They removed it, apologized, and again it is very believable that if they were not using original assets the source could have been tainted. But with info changing I gotta shift my stance in turn.

The thing is initially when this got noticed the story was that the few textures had slipped into the game since things like asset stores or free use ones have become notoriously tainted with undisclosed AI generated things. However now we know that isn't why that happened which is the issue.

If they were in the final game they were not placeholder. Nor are placeholders a valid use for AI.

Yes it shouldn't have been a thing to begin with but E33 did not get any praise or rewarded with such popularity because a texture ended up being GenAI that got removed. It's very different from Larian openly saying they ARE trying to make it a core part of Divinity. You can't force the comparison
