tried it out makes a solid top layer that i will make stereo only and i will replicate with a proper eq to avoid phase issues. im just paranoid.

thats what we do. just go to a project like today and say hey we want to see in the mix can we shorten the clap? can we attenuate for the volume loss and still get the same dbfs and rms? can we get it to hit harder in the mix without making it louder technically speaking??

start small get a win with a 90 second to 5 min beat. then go hit a mixdown. go hit a master. fresh from that. then you can get another win and keep it moving on any revisions on old projects with your brain and body all settled.

tbh its a great way to start a session. just do something silly and dumb. get your brain and hands adjusted. i realize after 5 min the chair is too high. removing some gear from the desk etc. people saying hi when you just come in. first 20 ish min is just setting a vibe.
