I tried with the snowblower yesterday and it was too wet, just clogged the chute, barely got it open enough to get out of the driveway. Today it's all frozen and probably just as difficult to move, if not moreso.

We do that drive every year. I used to cut through Maine when travelling to Southern NB, but haven't in many years. It was all backroads, hardly any highways.

Yup, we're looking at building, going in stages, but starting next spring. Nothing new is getting cheaper. Labour costs are not coming down.

Higher voltage means less current and smaller, cheaper wires, but AFAIK most residential setups are lower voltage. Series wiring is bad if any panels are shaded or not working well, lowers power of entire array.

I thought most of the residential solar panels worked at only 12-48VDC? Of course this has to be converted via an inverter to 120-240VAC.
I'm considering playing with solar and power stations at the cottage we're going to build. Just looking into it

I think you mean voltage, not amperage, it's more akin to pressure, amperage is like flow.

Dealt with medium-voltage breakers and switchgear, 4160volt stuff on the high side of the transformers. Most of our equipment ran on 600 volts.

I really don't want to open up this engine, first, it'll have to come out, then there are 4 timing chains on the back end of the engine. It would be many hundreds just in tensioners, guides, and gaskets.
