I had a small one, which was never very good at solar charging. It was more useful to charge it up when the power was on, and then use as a back-up supply. If your problem is intermittent mains power, rather than none at all, this may be a better answer.

Late evening flight, Ryanair, from Plovdiv to Stanstead. When we got there someone had locked the doors into the terminal, and the man with the key had gone away.
