We went with our kids in the summer and were blown away - every little detail was mesmerising

Yesterday was an example of his ‘brave’ man to man full pitch system.

We need more quality players to be able to do that twice a week though.

I think Kudus will be awesome over time but we need to get into a place where we are making space for him one on one.

It’s too easy right now for teams to double up on him and snuff us out because there isn’t enough other movement in the team

There is something here about depth of squad that should come over time. Other than a couple of players we don’t have as many passengers in the squad anymore but we also don’t have enough depth to play swashbuckling football all the time. Both PSG and Arsenal had real strength off the bench.

Without two worldies from Vitinha and two lapses from Romero that game could have gone very differently

Agreed
November 27, 2025 at 12:23 AM
I don’t think it’s just that - teams can press us because we just don’t have an out ball - unless we pass through teams we are stuffed.

We are struggling with no real striker attacking threat this season

You need golf in your life Mickey.

Whenever Spurs let me down I play golf.

Obviously I play a lot of golf.

Isn’t this broadly the same - not one Arsenal combination includes a forward player and only one doesn’t include a defender?

If anything the spurs one is more attacking as it includes a forward (Kudus)?

Wouldn’t that be exactly the same for any team that passes out from the back?

He was too slow if I remember correctly

For context on the lack of open play chances in the league in general - Saka’s (arguably Arsenal’s most attacking player) goal at the weekend was his first in open play away from home in over a year. AND that came about as a result of a high press and an error of the opposition player.
November 10, 2025 at 12:28 PM
It’s important not to have too binary a view though - looking back at SAF’s term at United he frequently deployed destroyers in games where he needed to frustrate the opposition.

Palhina has a role in the team it’s just not every game where we need that style of player
November 10, 2025 at 12:25 PM
I wonder if it’s okay when Romero is in the backline because Palinha gives him more licence to play progressive passes while also stopping potential counters
November 10, 2025 at 9:10 AM
Agreed - there have been some really poor performances this season.

I would put that down to the amount of rotation Frank has done, over time the impact of that should reduce.

Hopefully Romero will be injured through this international break and take some rest instead of playing for Argentina

Or third?

I’m getting that you might be a glass half empty chap James?
