Are Republicans clueless regarding global warming or have they just decided to lie about everything to maintain power and extract wealth to give themselves a better chance at surviving the worst consequences of it? Which is it, clueless or evil?

There are very few examples of extreme wealth inequality being resolved without chaotic upheaval and great suffering. I'm perplexed as to why many believe it will be different this time.

It's mind boggling how many voters are supporting entrenched oligarchy because they view the opposition as socialist or (grasp) communist. 42 million Americans are food insecure because capitalism is the greatest? Trickle down was a spectacular failure. Now it's choose between food and a doctor.

Okay, it's not a nice thing to say but maybe "Fat Man and Little Boy" will go viral. It would be great if it ended two careers in particular. That's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. But would Vance actually kick any fascist Nazis out? Can we just try it and see?

Oh boy. Two days on the road. Interstate travel is a mess. Whatever happened to safe following distances? Going 75 or 80 mph with only 2 or 3 car lengths from the vehicle ahead? What the heck are they thinking? Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is a blessing! Even if that gap is constantly being filled.

Capitalists resort to fascism when they feel threatened by socialism and communism. Or threatened by labor unions and democracy. They will go to any extreme to preserve capitalism. You can be confidant that the orange menace is definitely not anti-fascist.

Quite the paradox today. Driving through the woods of upstate NY enjoying the splendor of it all. Then driving by homes displaying their support for the orange menace and his hateful and harmful policies. I have to wonder if those studies about the benefits of being in nature are even valid.

Floating is underrated. My preferred flotation aid is a pool noodle. A small lake is ideal. A hot mostly sunny day, a few fluffy clouds, a slight breeze, a few loons and maybe an eagle or osprey. Relax and feel the healing. Then relax some more. 🙏

Can the forces for change, fueled by climate impacts and growing social awareness, overcome the entrenched power of those who benefit from the existing, destructive system? More importantly, can such change be brought about quickly enough to avoid catastrophe?

In elementary school we had drills for nuclear attacks. Now there are drills to protect themselves from deranged shooters who were allowed to arm themselves by tens of millions of people who tolerate gun mayhem in the U.S..

Turns out all those tax cuts that were supposed to eventually trickle down into the economy as investment and benefit the average American were just accumulated and used to pay bribes. Who could have seen that coming? Certainly not the SCOTUS when they ruled on Citizens United.
