Preserving my sanity today by watching what’s left of the filthy old snow banks from the big dump a few weeks ago melt.

Knitting for sanity tonight. It’s been a bit of month here, so it’s all feet up, needles and Netflix on the go. Tonight at least.

This will be a top down raglan sweater. My row gauge is so far off from the pattern it’s not even funny. But now that I know it fits, it’s a chill project 🧶

Feels like I’m cheating, #ShowMeYourKnits, with all the beautiful big pieces in fingering everyone‘s showing off 😊

I taught myself to go past knitting back and forth the way I had learned in elementary school on these. I haven’t looked back since and may have emotional attachment issues

Deep burgundy raglan turtleneck sweater that has been knit top down until just after the body sleeve separation. There’s a patterned stripe running down from the neck toward the side body on both sides. Not pictured is the worry of the knitter who is not sure this is actually going to work out because of a) wild row gauge issues and b) the pattern instructions making little sense.

Sunday afternoon, out and about.

I love this bush in my front yard that participates in the fall extravaganza only in some years.

It’s a pretty thing to look at for a moment or two between getting home from work and moving on to the next part of my day.

We have them come up from the ravine that runs through the city. This is the front yard of a house that sits on the edge of the ravine; that evening, there were about 6 or 7 of them munching away peacefully.

#ShowMeYourKnits in blue this week - this is one of my first sweaters. The main colour actually is dark blue although it might be hard to tell….

I loved this sweater but accidentally felted it to a much smaller size years ago 🥺

Knit sweater in dark blue with thin stripes in a multicolour contrast yarn. Sweater has short sleeves and a cropped neck and waist; a light grey neck and sleeves along with a slightly longer waist are knit into the sweater, mimicking the look of a t-shirt over a long-sleeve shirt.

Sock time at #ShowMeYourKnits!

Those are two of my recent pairs, both made exclusively with leftovers and both are waiting for colder weather so they can be worn🧶
A pair of hand knit socks with toes, heel, and ribbing around the leg opening in a dark red while the foot and leg are patterned with thin squiggly stripes in the same dark red and a multi-coloured contrasting yarn in yellow, blue, apricot and a lighter red. The socks are next to each other on a light wood surface. A pair of hand knit socks with lime green heels and toes and a thin line green stripe around the leg. Most of the foot and leg are a deep plum shade; the foot has a medium grey wide band around the middle and the top part of the leg as well as the ribbing at the leg opening are also medium grey. One sock is on top of the other, with the top sock covering most of the leg of the bottom sock as well as a bit of the foot. The socks are on a light wood surface.

It’s hat day on #ShowMeYourKnits!

This is my one and only brioche project from a few years ago - squishiest texture imaginable and so so warm! 🧶

Digging it out of the closet to take a picture totally makes me want to do more things in brioche….

I don’t do a ton of colour work, #ShowMeYourKnits, but here’s my fave hat from last winter.

Made entirely of leftovers from various other projects. And because I am a doofus, I forgot to add some of the orange yarn into the pompon 🤷‍♀️🧶
