A curious person on an internet voyage.
When I lived in France, I regularly faced debate and ridicule over the legitimacy of food allergies that conflicted with French belief, i.e. dairy or gluten intolerances.

This is a small reminder to be grateful that this is not my lived experience in the U.S.

The yogurts have since been slightly rearranged into two rows ***in the same section with the Lactose Free sign***, which will not likely prevent another mistake.

I alerted the staff who then argued with me that the yogurt was #lactose free, when clearly it was not. Only after showing the two packages side by side did he concede, with a “so what?” attitude.

So what? The entire point of the product—and the hotel’s own signage—is to prevent illness. Epic fail.

But other people who have less tolerance or additional complications like #inflammatory #disease could seriously be harmed by this kind of carelessness.

This is clearly a #packagedesign error. No two products should be so visually similar when one contains an allergen and the other *specifically does not* (or does but includes the lactase to assist).

Thankfully I am not harmed by this mistake — these days I buy expensive and complex #dairy digest medication (Lacto, highly recommend!) and intentionally consume some to create a tolerance. Because my past experience showed that a 100% dairy elimination diet made mistakes like this devastating.
