Someone else has probably mentioned it already, but if you can keep the old drive and plug it in, you can just copy the game files across and it won't have to download much at all.

Note to self: figure out next how dds textures get mangled into whatever that tex format is that the game uses
texconv works just fine in wine so that's one more piece of the puzzle
