That is correct, but contrary to popular belief, religion plays very little role in this whole situation (just like in the case of anti-semitism of 100 years ago). A lot of Palestinians are Christians, some are atheists, but that distinction is not made in ETHNIC cleansing.

I think Isreal use the excuse of Islamic terror to try and deflect from the fact they themselves are a terrorist state, much like in the west they use the excuse of Islamic extremists crimes against women and children to commit the same crimes themselves. Normal Islamic people are actually victims.

Not only EU funds. Different policies in UK.

Most policy makers rarely see beyond plusher parts of the South East. Few in Britain realise how good infrastructure is in much of Europe, and how bad it is in most of Britain.

I always thought Carol Cadwalladr's TED talk where she shows "Then & now" pictures of South Wales

Was really powerful - a dirty post industrial landscape revitalised in part by EU regional funds

Sadly now returning to the mean

Pointed out to a brexiter at the time.

If our govt had any desire to invest in these areas prior to brexit, they'd already have been doing so.

They only funded whilst we were in the EU because the ERDF etc required co funding.

“Instead of sending money to Brussels, let’s invest it in the UK!” They shouted.
Except of course we destroyed trade so we no longer have the business investment, trade receipts or income revenues to do that.
Brexit has made us poorer, meaner & less equal & the outlook remains bleak.

We had a short trip to Poznan in the summer. Good first impressions. It had amazing cheap public transport including air conditioned trams. The city centre was busy. The contrast to my home town of Reading was stark. Poznan had that positive vibe that lots of Britain had pre GFC/austerity.

Actions have consequences.

Unfortunately they refuse to accept that leaving the EU was extremely damaging and that the US is not going to come to the rescue.

Over at the Daily Telegraph, they're scratching their heads as to why the former mining and steel producinv city of Gliwice in Poland is now 45% more prosperous than Darlington... and why it has new shiny infrastructure... without mentioning EU funds for urban and regional development...
