I really don’t think it will be that close.

We need to take a step back and understand that this mass hysterical freak out is because a guy wants to tackle what is objectively the most existential threat to the City (affordability) in a way that helps residents, not corporations and the rich for whom New York is a playground

Our bigger issue is that Yankees ownership and management has no vision and could never pull of what either of the teams we just saw did…

That would be collusion, which would get them in a ton of trouble. 27 will be rough. Enjoy 26!

I don’t know why I find these in game interviews so maddening. Like let the guy do his job.

It really shows how rigged the whole discourse is when you see the system looses its mind when confronted with a guy who wants to make busses free.

There are very few people trick or treating in the city tonight. These people ruin everything.

Wow. Nicely done.

100% agree. It is refreshing to see a writer point this out, while most big name columnists are unwilling to because cashman and boon serve as valuable sources at the trade deadline.

I also think they have a tremendous debt load.

He took them to the WS after 7 years at the helm of a team with the highest or near highest payroll in baseball. They embarrassed themselves in front of the world with poor fundamental play. He’s a great guy, but this is a sport, and a franchise, about results, and the results have been meh.

I agree. Also, though, the Yankees finished with a run differential more than double the Blue Jays and ended up with the same record. That’s because, among other things, they were terrible in close games and fundamentally poor, and a lot of that is on management. It’s been 8 years with these two.

He is the longest serving GM - he’s been there for 28 years!!! He inherited a team that went in to win 3 titles, and has won one since, despite having a top three payroll in each of those years.

It’s the most expensive franchise to be a fan of. It is just so insulting.
