Oh my god, that’s a hat with history! Hand washing it is the safest bet. Brush out the dirt and use a roller to collect lint. Trim the threads. Using some detergent and a washcloth is what I would do. Let it air dry.
I’m sure there’s a better way of doing so, I’m just being cautious.

I love red pandas personally (shocker, I know) but I also like cows, cats, otters, and a lot of different animals too!
