Dirt rain came along with the thunderstorms in STL last night and made a mess of my windows, greatly displeasing my cat by disrupting her dawn bird watching routine. "And you shall continue cleaning the windows that look upon my realm until they squeak like a cornered mouse," decreed Her Majesty.

Happy #caturday from a sleepy girl with very soft ears.

What, like, this radical left monster?

Bees love Missouri native wild plum trees.

Me to my husband: "Please note, this is the expensive grass that we paid for on purpose, not the free grass that we are trying to kill." Native prairie dropseed (Sporobolus heterolepus) looks a lot like every other kind of grass when it's small.

Theodosia Purr wishes a Happy Caturday to every human whom she judges to deserve her good wishes. Do you deserve her good wishes? DO YOU?

It's still Caturday right?

Sharing just because I think the universe needs another cat picture.

This is my first time growing clary sage and I have discovered:
1. It's PET ME level fuzzy
2. It folds its leaves together at night
3. It is adorable

Walking in my garden today I saw a moth fly by. The pollinators are emerging early because of the unseasonably warm weather. It's a good thing my native Ozark witch hazel shrubs (which naturally bloom in February) are covered in flowers.

Lately I've been motivating myself to eat super healthy food by thinking about how many enemies it will help me outlive. TAKE THAT ALL THOSE WHO WOULD WISH ME AN EARLY END including especially fucking fascists.

Pretty sure I am never getting this hoodie back.

Ah, spring, when a young cat's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of destroying all birds.

It's cold AF and snowing in St. Louis and there is still quite a crowd at this roadside protest against Trump and Musk in West County.

Mental health break: my seeds are sprouting! 🌱🌱🌱

I have a favorite kind of 1020 tray for seed starting and it's this absolute tank from Bootstrap Farmer. Food grade PP, rated to hold 50 lbs. Does not warp and try to dump your plants when you carry it out a door with one hand while fending off a cat with your other hand. A+ 🌱

So the thing is I think I need more seeds.

It was doubtless not the most energy efficient idea some builder had to put a heating and cooling floor vent right next to a sliding door, but my cat appreciates it.

When I got out of bed this morning the horizon was the particular pale shade of pink that only ever seems to show up when it's cold AF outside, and my first thought was, hell indeed has frozen over.
