I get the year off for making dinner for Thanksgiving. For over thirty-five years, it's been just myself making dinner. It's a lot of work. I start two days in advance, and my recipes are from scratch. Today I made the green bean casserole. The mushroom soup is homemade. I add cheese to the dish.

I haven't been able to make my enchiladas in over a year. I've just been too busy. I found the time today. These are chicken enchiladas with a homemade sauce, Hatch chiles, and queso, with Mexican rice to complement them.

I salute and honor all my fellow veterans who donned the uniform and stood watch. We're less than 1% of the population that took the 'OATH' to secure and protect the Constitution for the good of our nation. I wear my Navy hat today. Go Navy, Army, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and Space Force.

Trump just threw MAGA Congress under the bus. He's blaming tonight's sweeping losses on the government shutdown. He's taking no responsibility for the fact that he ordered the shutdown and the pain and suffering he has inflicted upon the American citizens he's supposed to protect.
