However, we observed an activation of the right middle temporal gyrus in the teaching condition. This region is known to be involved in the perception of biological motion and in understanding communicative intent—crucial for teaching! (5/8)

Our results indicate that the Teaching & Observation condition elicited regions of the Technical Reasoning network, broadly encompassed within the tool-use/observation network. Interestingly, no activation of the mentalizing network was found for the teaching condition.

In this study, we investigated the neurocognitive foundations of social learning in the context of tool-making. We presented participants with tool-making episode (actual video of me making “tools” – here, a shovel). (3/8)
