i think it's a few things that feed into each other with the AI, there's a theory that spotify themselves might even be making the AI albums to farm engagement/revenue. but yeah it's shitty lol. my tunes got added to a bot playlist last year and an album got taken down and it was a huge headache

it is a listener-first, profit-focused platform that is completely anti-artist. barely pays artists anything, basically killed netlabel culture, and the platform is overrun by AI music and playlist botting but they're not addressing it because they make tons of money from this
