It would be just downright unethical to release such technology to the public without extensive human testing, after all. There's only one way to ensure a realistic simulation, and that's first-hand experience!

On the bright side, upper management has discovered they can cut out some of the unpleasantness of budget-mandated layoffs at the end of the fiscal year by simply letting the security around the artificial stomach grow lax and letting the situation just kind of sort itself out. Keeps up morale!

Of course, that just makes the situation worse. People start using the mass resizer to sneak in at hopefully undetectable sizes, leading to a situation where an employee was almost sent to a real stomach when they weren't noticed by a colleague eagerly licking the churning walls...

I keep tinies in a drawer at my desk.
Makes zoom meetings more tolerable.
Sticking some tinies in my mouth, out of the webcam’s sight, carefully savoring them without anyone noticing.
I hold back my belches, so they get to enjoy some more air in my belly unless they squirm and make me more gassy.👅

I’m thinking of slightly shifting my direction in how I write for my fictional laboratory setting.
I’ve thus far kinda taken the approach of writing it as a fairly soulless corporation which is as eager to brutally cull staff as it is to involve itself in dubious work practices.

But when no one else is around, some staff bring the settings down to safe and soothing and take a quick break from work in there.
