Stories have been focusing a lot on corporations and our impact on nature - as opposed to nature feeling like a much larger distant force that looms over the player. I miss feeling like a kid catching bugs accidentally seeing a God in the trees.

Good but not great. The daoism stuff is really good, and the protagonists journey is pretty interesting. It lacks something to me though, the world feels lacking at times despite all of the effort put into world building. Still worth reading though.

4) Played Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter: Finally got around to finishing this. I have some problems with it, it had some pacing issues, but it does the final scene so well that its worth playing just for that. Also Cassius goat.

I recommended the og since it has full voice acting and is generally better paced, and they wouldn't have to worry about gameplay continuity from FC to Third. They are having a lot of fun so far

specifically human societies, or even cultivator societies. The closest it ever got to doing this in an interesting way was the military base, other than that its almost always just described in prose and not really expanded upon in ways that feels interesting.

3) Sky Pride Book 3: I adored this volume. I loved how they connected ptsd to daoist philosophy, and in such an immersive and convincing way. I think the final tea service scene had some of my favorite dialogue in a Chinese fantasy novel.

2) The Wind Rises (2013) Hayao Miyazaki: Really enjoyed this one. The dream scenes in particular were lovely, both visually and thematically.

1) Sky Pride Book 1 and book 2: A Xianxia with actual daoist philosophy, I'd never thought I'd see the day.

Its called Sky Pride. the first couple of chapters aren't the greatest imo but once the mc gets out of the dump it really hits its stride
