Reactionary centrists in that consultants' report complain that Dems have moved to the left since 2012 on almost every issue. That is correct, but they leave out why. See this map of the Senate makeup in 2012 for context.

How are your moderators going to decide which characters are consenting and which are not? Are they just going to eyeball it and decide based on vibes? The new community guidelines look like they're going to de facto ban a pretty wide range of genres. Look, I get that you're trying to monetize and these changes are likely being mandated by payment processors, but a little transparency would go a long way. Especially don't insult our intelligence by claiming these changes are meant to empower us or make the site safer, welcoming, and inclusive. Remember what happened to Tumblr.

Here's the letter I wrote to Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI).
Dear Senator Baldwin, I have called and written before to express my opinion and urge action. This will be one of the few times I expect a response. As a bisexual Wisconsinite whose intimate partner is transgender, whose sibling is nonbinary transgender, and whose circle of friends is majority genderqueer in some capacity, I am writing to express my abject horror at the total ban on funding of gender-affirming care for transgender Americans of ALL AGES included in the Republican Party's corrupt and extremist budget reconciliation bill. In addition to being a violation of basic human rights for no other reason than cruelty, this bill would directly endanger my partner, my sibling, and most of the people I love and care about most by stripping their access to lifesaving healthcare. My partner and sibling have both undergone gender-affirming surgery meaning they can no longer produce the hormones of their sex assigned at birth. If they lose access to hormone replacement therapy, it would lead to potentially fatal health complications. If this budget leaves committee, you must challenge this provision under the Byrd rule. It specifically violates subsection 313(b)(1)(D) and 313(b)(1)(A) of the Congressional Budget Act of 1974. In addition to being an attack on human rights, it also has minimal impact on the budget. Please also make sure you vote NO on overruling the Parliamentarian, and NO on waiving the Byrd rule on this provision if it is struck down. The Byrd rule is an essential component to restraining the power of the majority in the Senate, and allowing this provision to pass uncontested would effectively end the filibuster. Force Republicans to strike this provision or go on the record overruling the Senate Parliamentarian. In addition, please consider slowing down daily business by denying unanimous consent on routine motions. At the very least, you MUST speak out against this provision on social media and on the Senate floor. I will be watching for this. Make sure to raise a point of order about this, and emphasize how small of a portion of Medicaid gender affirming care is to the Parliamentarian—likely under $1 billion. Please reply to this email with Senator Baldwin's plans for challenging this provision. The lives of the people I love most depend on it. Thank you for your time, Real name omitted

DNC has zero shame. They're using the bogus charges against Rep. LaMonica McIver to fundraise. Doing that thing where they pose as her and in order to help her to "rush a $10 donation" to the Party. My response to the text is below.
"Fuck off. The Democratic Party is not getting a cent from me until its leadership actually starts fighting back instead of crossing the aisle to vote with Republicans on stuff in the Senate. I saw that GENIUS Act vote. It's disgusting. And it's especially disgusting that you're trying to fundraise off of a fascist dictator's attempt to arrest a sitting Congresswoman. Have you spineless, valueless freaks no shame? Better yet, if you want regular voters to donate, stop bending to the will of the Silicon Valley villionaires who write the biggest checks. Cut them loose and we'll talk.

Here is an example of the kind of account I immediately block when it follows me. I circled all the "red flags" on the profile. New account (6 days old) following an absurd number of people, billed as an aggregator of memes and humor posts, and explicitly requesting followbacks.

Hello again Harris team. I am following up to my previous feedback to express my approval of Governor Tim Walz's defense of trans people at a recent podcast appearance. The remarks in question are linked here: Link. This is exactly the kind of messaging on trans people that I want to see coming from Democrats. It's brief, it's simple, but it works. More importantly, it is the correct way to respond to the barrage of accusations coming out of the Republican machine aimed firmly at trans Americans. I strongly encourage Vice President Harris, Senator Sherrod Brown, Representative Colin Allred, and all other Democrats running to adopt this angle when questioned or accused about giving trans people access to care. Namely, that Republicans are fixating on a non-issue and directing needless fear and hatred toward ordinary people in order to distract from the lack of substance in their own campaign. Representative Allred took a similar tack during his debate with Ted Cruz, but fell short when he led it by reiterating he does "not want boys playing girls' sports," which is accepting Republicans' framing. Keep letting Walz do his thing, and take a page or two out of his book, and we will see you in the White House come January. Thank you.

To whom it may concern, I'm writing to express my disgust and dismay at the Harris campaign's willingness to devalue trans lives in order to score a dig at Donald Trump. This is the tweet in question: link. To this point in the election, Democrats have been conspicuously silent on trans issues. There were no trans speakers at this year's convention, a contrast to 2016 and 2020. After Representative Colin Allred said in a campaign ad that he "doesn't want boys playing girls' sports," and Senator Sherrod Brown expressed a willingness to co-sign a Republican ban on trans people playing team sports aligned with their genders, this tweet - a "gotcha" toward Trump for allowing gender-affirming care for federal prison inmates to continue while he was President - is part of a worrying trend. Anti-trans messaging is not an effective means of winning votes. It isn't working for Republicans, and it won't work for Democrats either. I and others within your progressive base want to see a full-throated commitment from Democrats to fight against Republican legislation stripping them of liberty and access to live-saving, gender-affirming care, not a growing number of hints that trans people will be discarded. As I wrote to Representative Allred's campaign last week, I will not stand for a Democratic Party that goes the way of Labour UK by pivoting to strip rights and protections from transgender Americans. The campaign tweet, on top of persistent catering to Republican voters, is beginning to make me question just how many policy concessions Vice President Harris has made, and whether trans lives are one of them. If Vice President Harris is serious about being a President for all Americans, that necessarily includes transgender Americans. I urge the campaign to delete the tweet and formally apologize for using the wellbeing of trans people in such a callous manner. A position pivot on trans issues is one that I will not tolerate.
