And if you do buy them outright you get updates basically forever. I bought Final Cut Pro about a decade ago and it still gets updated to the latest version. Ditto Logic Pro.

The German media are not seeing to contradict or question the Gestapo comparisons at all, and I think we can assume that they're the subject matter experts. Der Spiegel even put it in a headline, IIRC.

I haven't seen any of the German media questioning or disagreeing with the Gestapo comparisons. A few weeks ago I'd have said they were more like the SA but the latest escalation and willingness to simply disappear anyone who disagrees with them puts them squarely into secret police territory.

Martin Niemöller of "First they came for the.." fame was a Lutheran who was an antisemitic Nazi supporter. He initially cheered the Nazi persecution of the Jews after they seized power - his opposition to the Nazis only arose after they started persecuting Jews who had converted to Christianity.

The Catholic church capitulated less than some of the others and suffered the consequences - while the church officially didn't want to rock the boat numerous priests and church leaders were persecuted. I live right opposite the church this guy was arrested at: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinric...

Probably one of the drawbacks of being a band which is effectively reliant on a single songwriter. I guess it was very much the Pete Townshend Show (with a slightly creepy side of Keith Moon showing far too much enthusiasm for playing a child abuser).
