Following up on this whole thread, here's useful information that I wish Zymo would include in their main product pamphlet. The 12% equal species distribution is based on genomic DNA (ng) - doesn't account for genome size or 16S copy number. By 16S profiling, Pseudomonas should only be 4.2%...
Table 1 from full Zymo Microbial Community DNA Standard documentation (https://files.zymoresearch.com/pdf/d6305--d6306-_zymobiomics_microbial_community_dna_standard_v1-1-3.pdf) outlining the theoretical composition (%) based on either genomic DNA, 16S only, 16S & 18S, genome copy, or cell number. The % value for each of the ten community members varies considerably depending on the metric used.

I believe it can also apply to long-tenured individuals:
Those with probationary status may not just include "first-year hires". In the dumbest way this could play out it could also include very high-performers who got a recent promotion (postdoc to research fellow, contractor to staff scientist etc)
