Pre "web", there wasn't much to do on the net apart from flame each other on Usenet. It was libertarising to have such Freedom, and everyone assumed this would just scale up until everyone could post opinions and be corrected. Turns out it didn't, and most people are just happy to consume and Like.

They got elected on a platform of not raising "taxes of working people". This is one time I wish they'd break their manifesto promise - it was a stupid, unnecessary, crowd-pleasing sound-bite that now prevents them from taxing people proportionately to what they can afford.

Nice - similar to, but much simpler than Nock (developers.urbit.org/reference/no...) which acts as the functional bytecode for the Urbit distributed operating system / tarpit / Blockchain thing.
