A trip to Lyn Brenig. I spent a bit of time looking for Emperor moths and adders but no luck, lovely to hear the skylarks on my walk though. A visit to the Osprey lookout point was more successful, saw them both, in the air and on the nest.
They also have Willow tit there which I saw and a Merlin.

This week brought this little fellow looking ever so vulnerable on the ground. S/he wasn't there the following day so fingers crossed s/he is thriving somewhere in the trees.

A trip to London for the weekend. My daughter found this in the toilets at the pub........missing my trap which is broken so it was good to get this Early Grey, and away from home.

Lovely wander around Burton Mere Wetlands a few days ago.
Kingfisher showed well and the light was so good that I was happy to sit and watch the Teal and Widgeon.

Such a weird photo taken from the top of Liverpool's Royal Hospital last week. Taken through glass there are patches of sun in all sorts of weird places. A welcome distraction!

My allotment yesterday morning. It was inaccessible on Sunday because of the snow and ice. Good to have it back!

Had an unexpected twitch this morning with a birder friend in Widnes. We missed a Ring necked duck at Taylor Park but went on to Victoria park where we found a Drake Mandarin duck on the ice at the edge of pond. Not the best photo as it kept preening and then hiding behind Gulls.

Watched the siskins in our local park this morning. Not many people there today for the first time since before Christmas.

Looking through 2024 moths I think this has to be the most striking moth I've caught .............not at home but in Devon. I love travelling with my battery run moth trap.
My first Leopard moth.
