We just wrapped up a replicate crossover trial using two independent samples and ran the random effects meta within each group. I was wondering if there was a method of comparing the tau statistics.

Dr. Senn, I hope all is well. Quick question, if you don’t mind me asking… do you know of any methods to compare tau statistics from random effects meta-analysis on replicate crossover trial data?

Essentially, I’m trying to calculate a 90% CI for an SDir.

The SDir is negative, so I flipped the control and exercise group’s values to make it positive. I’m not having trouble calculating a lower bound for the CI.

For some reason, it doesn’t allow me to DM.

Dr. Atkinson, I really enjoyed the paper… well written and strong design!

I am curious to hear your thoughts as to whether a Bland-Altman plot between the 1st and 2nd response replicates (to assess the agreement of the replicated placebo-adjusted supplementation effect) may be of any value here?
