Several hundred adults, young people, and children packed into St Mary’s Church, Felpham on the 5th of December.
The church rang with bell-ringing, school choirs, and community cheer, all under the inspirational gaze of Blake’s Angel, just as he sketched it during his time here.

English comedian and poetry podcast presenter Frank Skinner visited the cottage yesterday with chair Doug Nicholls and Blake Society Treasurer Roger Burston. A poetry lover, Frank Skinner was thrilled to get into the house where Blake penned down so many beautiful poems and wrote his late prophecies

This is our first Heritage Open Day!

Today we had a wonderful tour at the Blake Cottage. Guided by Nick Tyson, it was a great opportunity to show the public and the local community the repairs underway and give a bit of context about the Blakes seaside home.

New thatch is finally in place!

The cottage roof, rafters and masonry exude quality craftsmanship. There's more renovation work on the way, but it's definitely time to celebrate this great achievement. The cottage is now safe and there's no longer risk of collapse!

Blakefest 2025 celebrates visionary poet William Blake on 27–28 September in Felpham and Bognor Regis.

The Tatching Operation has started!!!

Yesterday the master thatcher started laying out the thatch and the work is progressing at an incredibly fast pace! We are getting there!

Last week The Blake Cottage Trust was invited to attend a private view of some Blake's precious manuscripts at the British Library. Amongst the works carefully kept in their collection are The Notebook, Tiriel, Vala, and many letters.

Maurice Sendak, renowned for his contributions to children’s literature as a writer and illustrator, was also a dedicated art collector.

Sendak owned at least 10 works by Blake, and they will be auctioned by Christie's from May 29 to June 12.

Yesterday Doug Nicholls (Chair), Sharyn Wortman (Trustee) and Josh Howard- Saunders of blam.uk presented our proposal to build a working replica of Blake’s printing press for the cottage. We have been shortlisted for The Worshipful Company of Tinplate and Wire Workers annual prize.🧶
